PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily determine a program to view by reducing time for channel selection operation taken when determining the program to view.

SOLUTION: A television receiver comprises a display screen controller 312 which, when selection operation of two or more arbitrary broadcasting stations performed at intervals shorter than a predetermined interval is repeated for a predetermined number of times, switches the displayed screen on a display to plural displayed screens, thereby allowing the viewer to check the contents of plural broadcasting programs simultaneously.
