PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration that enables up-convert compatible with diverse scanning systems at low costs.

SOLUTION: A screen corresponding to inputted image signals is split into two sub-screens; up-convert to complement pixels is processed in each of the two split sub-screens; image signals corresponding to the first sub-screen are held in a plurality of line memories in a first memory block; image signals corresponding to the second sub-screen are held in a plurality of line memories in a second memory block; signals held in the plurality of line memories in the first memory block are read out in a first sequence determined by the scanning system of the display device connected to the memories; and signals held in the plurality of line memories in the second memory block are read out in a second sequence determined by the scanning system of the display device.
