<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and the like that can reduce the length of time taken to start while maintaining reliability of the authenticity of programs. <P>SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus comprises a random access non-volatile memory storing programs to be executed by executing means; signature authenticating means that authenticates signatures for programs; and simplified checkup means for performing simplified checkups on programs. At the timing of starting up the information processing apparatus, the simplified checkup means is called up to perform simplified checkups on the programs stored in the non-volatile memory and, if writing of a program into the non-volatile memory is instructed from outside after the information processing apparatus is started up and if the result of signature authentication confirms its authenticity, executes writing of the program into the non-volatile memory. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
