<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patterned magnetic recording disk for a multi-track recording accompanied with head skew compensation, and a master template for nanoimprinting the disk. <P>SOLUTION: A patterned medium disk for multi-track recording is manufactured by being subjected to nanoimprinting from a master template and has data islands arranged in a pattern for compensating a head skew. The islands are arranged along a line inclined as much as a sharp angle with respect to a disk radial direction line as required for multi-track recording. However, the angle is not the same to all bands but is changed in each band to compensate the head skew. The angle of a line in an inclined band is reduced only by the amount of the head skew. There are a plurality of bands between a disk inner diameter (ID) and a medium diameter (MD), in which an angle is in one direction from a radial line, and a plurality of bands between the disk MD and an outer diameter (OD), in which an angle is in an opposite direction from the radial line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
