<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device which cuts off power supply to a rotating machine using an impact force if an automobile collides or rolls over, and simultaneously discharges an electric charge stored in a smoothing capacitor. <P>SOLUTION: The power supply device includes: an HVDC power supply unit 10; an inverter 40 which drives the rotating machine 50; a pair of DC busses 11, 12 which connect the HVDC power supply unit 10 with the inverter 40; the smoothing capacitor 60 connected in parallel to the inverter 40; a series circuit which connects a relay 70 connected in parallel to the smoothing capacitor 60 with a resistor 80 in series; and a joint 20 set up on the line of the DC buss 11. The joint 20 has a mechanism of blocking the conduction of the DC buss 11 and discharging the electric charge of the smoothing capacitor 60 by setting the relay 70 to a closed state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
