PURPOSE: An aluminum-magnesium alloy and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent the oxidation of magnesium in molten aluminum by adding aluminum-magnesium mother alloy instead of directly adding aluminum-magnesium. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing an aluminum-magnesium alloy comprises the steps of: adding magnesium to first molten aluminum, casting the first molten aluminum to obtain aluminum-magnesium mother alloy having a first magnesium composition, adding the aluminum-magnesium mother alloy into second molten aluminum, and casting the second molten aluminum into aluminum-magnesium alloy having a second magnesium composition smaller than the first magnesium composition. |
