PURPOSE: A hatch cover opening and closing structure for a ship is provided to conveniently open and close a hatch cover by smoothly controlling the tension of opening and closing alleviating units. CONSTITUTION: In a hatch cover opening and closing structure for a ship, one side of a hatch cover(14) is hinge-connected to an entrance(12) of a block(10) to rotate the other side of the hatch cover so that the hatch cover can be opened and closed. The hatch cover opening and closing structure for a ship comprises opening and closing alleviating units(20). The opening and closing alleviating units are installed between the hatch cover and the entrance of the block to slowly open and close the hatch cover.
