<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication device and a radio communication device control method with which handover is carried out based on radio quality of a base station that is a handover destination, thereby making it possible to decrease a chance of returning to a base station before the handover and improve a success rate of the handover. <P>SOLUTION: A radio communication device 1, which is capable of communicating with a first base station 2a and a second base station 2b, includes: a first radio part 13 for performing communication with the first base station 2a using a first resource; a second radio part 15 for performing test communication with the second base station 2b using a free resource other than the first resource; a radio quality comparison part 17 for making a comparison between radio quality of the first resource and radio quality of the free resource; and a control part 11 for carrying out handover to the second base station 2b in accordance with a result of the comparison by the radio quality comparison part 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
