<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of carrying out transfer bias application for suppressing the occurrence of a peeling discharge phenomenon when a resistance value of a transfer roller varies, and suppressing the occurrence of transfer failure. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes bias application means for applying bias such that a current flowing into a transfer roller 6 becomes equal to a preset set current value. When a current value to be set in accordance with a resistance value of the transfer roller 6 is a target current value, and a voltage value to be applied for flowing a current of the target current value is a target voltage value, if the target voltage value is higher than a threshold voltage value set in advance, the set current value is set smaller than the target current value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
