<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that reduces image quality deterioration due to dark current. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device includes: a plurality of photodiodes 9-2 arranged in a two-dimensional shape; a plurality of transfer switches 9-3 transferring a plurality of pixel signals obtained from the plurality of photodiodes 9-2; a plurality of amplification MOS amplifiers 9-5 converting the pixel signals transferred by the transfer switches 9-3 into voltage signals; a read circuit 9-10 reading the plurality of voltage signals; a vertical scanning circuit 9-12 selecting the voltage signals read by the read circuit; and control means controlling the operation of the vertical scanning circuit 9-12.
