PURPOSE: A cutting insert for a crankshaft milling cutter is provided to easily check whether or not the cutting insert is normally mounted on a main body by an engaged state between a protrusion and a recess. CONSTITUTION: A cutting insert(100) for a crankshaft milling cutter comprises a main cutting edge(101), an auxiliary cutting edge(102), and a penetration hole(170). The main cutting edge is formed on the edge engaging the upper surface and the front surface or the rear surface. The auxiliary cutting edge is formed on the edge engaging the lower surface and the first side surface(150) or the second side surface. The upper and lower surface of the cutting insert is formed in a trapezoid shape. A gap between the front surface and the rear surface becomes narrower from the first side surface to the second side surface or from the second side surface to the first side surface.
