<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device and a projection video display apparatus capable of improving luminance efficiency of a luminous body and reliability of the luminous body. <P>SOLUTION: A light source device includes: a light source unit 10B for emitting excitation light; a luminous body (an illuminant G) for emitting reference video light in accordance with the excitation light; and condensation members for condensing the excitation light on the luminous body.
