IMAGE READING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS EQUIPPED WITH THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of accurately performing position adjustment of a pulley placed in a carriage supporting a mirror.

SOLUTION: A second carriage 50 comprises: a mirror; a main plate 510; and a support plate 520. The mirror is placed in a mirror opening part 511B. A wire is wound around a pulley placed in a pulley shaft 524 of the support plate 520. The second carriage 50 is moved in a sub-scanning direction (lateral direction) by the wire. The support plate 520 is slidingly moved in the sub-scanning direction along a first slot 525 and a second slot 526 and positionally adjusted, and then, connected to the main plate 510. The tip end 524A abuts on a first abutting surface 515A of the main plate 510 when the support plate 520 is slidingly moved.
