<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a rubber composition having excellent wear resistance while the number of stages of kneading is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing a the rubber composition, after a polybutadiene rubber (BR) and carbon black of an ISAF class and/or an SAF class are kneaded, at least one rubber component of a natural rubber (NR) and a styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber (SBR) are cast in the same kneading stage to further perform kneading.
