<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for load distribution in a storage system using a solid memory (for example, a flash memory) as an expanded cache area. <P>SOLUTION: According to one embodiment of the present invention, the system includes a first storage system and a second storage system. The first storage system changes a work mode from a first mode to a second mode on the basis of a processing load in the first storage system. In the first mode, the processing load of the first storage system is executed by the first storage system.
