<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of preventing the edge of a cylindrical member from being damaged. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a cylindrical member (fixing belt 110) having flexibility; a nip member (nip plate 130) coming into slide contact with the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical member; a backup member (pressure roller 140) holding the cylindrical member between the backup member and the nip member, to form a nip part between the backup member and the cylindrical member and rotated together with the cylindrical member; an upstream guide 310 provided on the upstream side of the nip part in the rotational direction of the cylindrical member and guiding the cylindrical member to the nip part; and an edge regulation member 400 having a regulation surface 401 regulating the position of the edge 111 of the cylindrical member.
