<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize color conversion making the most use of the color region reproduction of an output device, on even an input image which is to be printed by standard printing. <P>SOLUTION: A color processing apparatus stores profiles in a profile storage area (100), and selects either a first output profile aiming at colorimetry matching with the standard output profile associated with input data or a second output profile which is expanded or compressed depending on the standard output profile and the color region of a digital printer (102).
