摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light-emitting element substrate and a manufacturing method therefor which, in addition to solving the problems associated with mass production capability and the ease of manufacture, improves the efficiency of light extraction of a surface light-emitting element using an OLED and also exhibits increased yield and heightened reliability, as well as provide a surface light-emitting element using the substrate and a luminaire and a backlight using the surface light-emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: In a light-emitting element substrate used as a substrate for a surface light-emitting element consisting of a transparent electrode, an organic thin film layer and a cathode which are laminated one on another, there are provided a transparent support substrate and a high refraction index layer disposed between the support substrate and the transparent electrode, which consists of one or two or more layers having a higher refraction index than that of the support substrate. The high refraction index layer are composed to include a light scattering section which scatters light entering from the transparent electrode side and a flat section which abuts on the transparent electrode. The haze value of the high refraction index layer is made to be 5% or less, or the diameter of bubbles present in the high refraction index layer are made to be one tenth the thickness of the high refraction index layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
