<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check, by a simple operation, an image with a blurred background and photograph the image. <P>SOLUTION: While maintaining a through-image display state in which images picked up by an imaging section 205 are sequentially displayed on a display unit 106, a system control unit 220 determines whether or not the display unit 106 has been touched-on by using a finger or a pen F1. If the display unit has been touched-on, a focus frame 401 is superposed and displayed on a through-image around position coordinates touched-on, and one-point AF processing is carried out. Then, determination is made as to whether a touching operation was performed on an arbitrary place on the display unit 106 while keeping the touched-on state of the finger F1. When the touch-on by the finger F2 is detected, the opening operation of a diaphragm 202 is carried out while the finger F2 touches on the display part 106. When the touch-up by the finger F2 is detected, the opening operation of the diaphragm 202 is stopped.
