<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal capable of accurately detecting a state in which current consumption has occurred. <P>SOLUTION: The portable terminal provided with a battery 100 comprises: a display unit 103 that displays information; a current measuring unit 105 that measures current consumption of the battery 100; a control unit 101 that, in response to an input operation by an operator, executes a function designated from plural functions and diagnoses the current consumption of the battery 100; and table means 104 in which states of the portable terminal are prescribed by plural items according to the functions and in which threshold values of the current consumption of the battery 100 are stored for each of the items. The control unit 101 causes the current measuring unit 105 to measure the current consumption in diagnosing the current consumption, and acquires one threshold value in one item corresponding to the present state of the portable terminal from the table means 104.
