<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To interconnect between a plurality of network repeating devices constituting a virtual network repeating device, so that even when a fault occurs in a private line monitoring device status each other, it is made possible to monitor device status each other without implementing a special function in external network repeating devices connected to the virtual network repeating device. <P>SOLUTION: When as data frame is received from an external network repeating device connected by redundancy technology comprised of a virtual network repeating device and a flow base load dispersion mechanism, a flow identifier is extracted from the data frame and the virtual network repeating device executes the same processing as in deciding an output interface to determine whether the data frame was received in a predefined interface. If not received in the predefined interface, it is possible to detect that a fault has occurred in the predefined interface.
