PURPOSE: A split microwave backhaul architecture with a smart outdoor unit is provided to perform error correction, data signal conversion, power amplification of a data signal and an automatic gain control in a digital region. CONSTITUTION: An N-plexer(228) demultiplexes a data signal received in a digital region. A processor unit(230) is combined with the N-plexer, and executes commands to control the operation of the N-plexer. Converter modules(232,236) are combined with the N-plexer, and convert a data signal received between the digital region and an analog region. An RF module(234) corrects errors in the data signal received in the digital region, and converts the received data signal from a baseband to a radio frequency, and performs automatic gain control in the digital region.
