<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems that there are risks in a conventional image forming apparatus that, when the operator goes away from the image forming apparatus after starting authenticated printing, a recording medium on which authenticated printing data are printed is surreptitiously read or stolen by a third party. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 includes: a re-authentication timing condition setting unit 23c; an authentication information acquiring unit 24a; a random number generating unit 24b; a re-authentication requiring timing generating unit 24c; an authenticated printing data control unit 24d; and a printing control unit 27a. Accordingly, when continuing the authenticated printing after starting the authenticated printing, it is required for the operator to perform the re-authentication at a prescribed frequency, and then, the operator must stay near the image forming apparatus 10. Besides, when the operator goes away from the image forming apparatus 10, the authenticated printing data are printed only for a short time.
