<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction gear capable of increasing a permissible output and achieving reduction in size. <P>SOLUTION: A reduction gear 1 has a case 2, a reduction mechanism 3 accommodated inside the case 2, a shaft part 51 to which the output of the reduction mechanism 3 is transmitted, and a pinion 52 coupled with the shaft part 51. The reduction mechanism 3 has an external gear 15 to which the output of an electric motor 100 is transmitted and a carrier 17 that holds the external gear 15. The pinion 52 and the shaft part 51 are formed integrally into one unit and the shaft part 51 and the carrier 17 are spline-coupled.
