PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing device which can realize an optimum operation environment for a video reproduction device by automatically launching an application which suits the situation.

SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, the information processing device comprises a viewing information acquisition module, an application setup module, and a startup instruction transmission module. The viewing information acquisition module acquires viewing information indicating the viewing status of a video reproduction device. The application setup module sets up an application which executes specified information processing concerning the operation of the video reproduction device on the basis of the viewing information. The startup instruction transmission module transmits a startup instruction to launch the application which has been set up by the application setup module.
