<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recognition device for highly accurately recognizing what each object in an image including a plurality of objects is and recognizing even locations of the respective objects. <P>SOLUTION: An image recognition device 1 is configured such that a plurality of rectangular candidate areas are extracted from an input image and each is defined as an object image in a partial area extraction unit 11, what is the object image is recognized and a candidate list is obtained by the image recognition unit 12. For each object listed in the candidate list, whether or not it is the object indicated by the object image is recognized in a re-determination recognition unit 13 again to attain a final recognition result. A position of the object is obtained as the position of a rectangle extracted in the partial area extraction unit 11. By making an image feature amount adopted in the re-determination identification unit more highly accurate than the image feature amount adopted in the partial area extraction unit 11, the candidate list is somewhat shortened and then a highly accurate recognition result is obtained with little calculation loads. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
