<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to protect battery cells while a separator is reduced in thickness. <P>SOLUTION: A power supply unit comprises a plurality of battery cells 10 whose contour is square-shaped and which each include an electrode terminal 13 on top face thereof, the plurality of battery cells 10 being laminated one on top of another, and a separator 20 of insulation quality which is interposed between the battery cells 10. The separator 20 comes in the form of sheet and is substantially the same in width as the battery cells 10, so that it can be pasted to the battery cell so as to cover it from the lamination plane to the top face thereof. The above construction ensures that the end edge of an interface where the battery cells face each other is covered with the sheet-like separator at the top face of the battery cells, making it possible to prevent the adjacent battery cells from being shorted together in that portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
