<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: clay powder capable of dispersing finely and uniformly into water or a hydrophilic solvent from the state of powder, and capable of thickening and swelling; and a method for producing the same for obtaining hydrogen ion type clay in which the ion of an alkali metal or the like is replaced with hydrogen ion by applying ion exchange to aqueous dispersion of clay having the ion of the alkali metal or the like between unit crystal layers, and drying the clay by a specific method. <P>SOLUTION: In the clay powder, 70-99 mol% of positive ion existing between layers is hydrogen ion, and secondary particles are in the rosette state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
