PURPOSE: A water treatment apparatus and a method for the same are provided to treat inorganic ions of which amount exceeds to a drinking water quality standard using an electrosorption process. CONSTITUTION: A water treatment apparatus includes a filtering unit(110), an electrosorption electrode unit(120), a detection unit(130), a control unit(140), and a drain unit(150). The filtering unit filters foreign materials from raw water. The electrosorption electrode unit electrically absorbs inorganic ions from the filtered water. The detection unit detects the electro-conductivity of the electrosorption electrode unit. The control unit receives data from the detection unit and controls electric potential applied to the electrosorption electrode unit. The drain unit drains the treated water containing the inorganic ions.
