PURPOSE: An air conditioner for a vehicle is provided to properly control ventilation efficiency according to the temperature inside the vehicle or the difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures and to implement an efficient ventilation mode as well as to minimize power consumption. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner for a vehicle comprises a front air conditioning unit(100), a rear air conditioning unit(200), a temperature sensor, and a control unit(300). The front and rear air conditioning units comprise a front blower(110) and a rear blower(210), respectively. The control unit drives the front blower to forcibly draw air outside the vehicle into the vehicle in a first ventilation mode and drives the front blower to forcibly draw air outside the vehicle into the vehicle and the rear blower to forcibly draw air inside the vehicle out of the vehicle in a second ventilation mode.
