<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent biomaterial having good operability and high safety. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a polymer having a peptide unit represented by formula (1): -(Pro-Y-Gly)<SB POS="POST">n</SB>- (wherein, Y represents Pro or Hyp; and n is an integer of ≥1) and a saccharide residue derived from a polysaccharide. The new safe polymer has various characteristics of collagen-like polypeptides, suitable for a biomaterial, and also having characteristics of polysaccharides, namely, high hydrophilicity and enzymolytic degradation, and further having high mechanical strength and water absorbing properties. Furthermore, the water absorbing property and enzymolysis property of the obtained polymer can be controlled by changing the amounts of introduction of the peptide oligomer and the polysaccharide in condensation reaction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
