<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of efficiently heating a nip plate. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device 100 includes: a cylindrical member (fixing belt 110) having flexibility; a heating element arranged in the cylindrical member; a nip plate 130 arranged in the cylindrical member and receiving radiation heat from the heating element; a stay 160 supporting the nip plate 130, in such a state that the stay 160 surrounds the heating element and formed in an U shape in cross-sectional view; and a backup member (pressure roller 140) holding the cylindrical member between the backup member and the nip plate 130, to form a nip part N between the backup member and the cylindrical member. A bent part 132 bent toward the upstream side wall (front wall 162) on the upstream side of the stay 160 is formed on the upstream side in a conveyance direction of the nip plate 130 and the upper edge 132A of the bent part 132 is supported by the upstream side wall of the stay 160. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
