PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection device and an object detection method capable of detecting an object quickly in a wide range.

SOLUTION: An object detection device 101 includes: an imaging unit 11 for capturing a two-dimensional image for a plurality of wavelength ranges selected in advance in accordance with physical properties of a detection object; and a detection unit 12 for detecting a material in each pixel of the two-dimensional image. The imaging unit 11 includes an imaging element unit 32, a wavelength filter unit 31, and a reflection unit 33.
