<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method capable of obtaining a high-purity benzyl ether compound at excellent yield by a simple method. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for producing a benzyl ether compound represented by general formula (In the formula, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>each represents a hydrogen atom, a 1-3C alkyl group, or a 1-3C alkoxy group, and R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>represents a 1-3C alkyl group) which is obtained by reacting a benzyl alcohol compound having a phenol group with an aliphatic alcohol compound in the presence of an inorganic acid and a nitro compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
