<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a variation in amplitude of undulations of a sheet to provide a structure capable of high precision image recording in such a structure that record paper is curved into an undulated shape while recording an image to prevent the paper from floating from a platen. <P>SOLUTION: A printer unit 11 includes a recording section 24 which ejects ink onto the record paper 35 from above a transport passage 65, the platen 42 for supporting the record paper 35 during the image recording, and a plurality of pressing members 90A-90I provided separately in a left-right direction 9 above the platen 42 for pressing the record paper 35 toward the platen 42. The record paper 35 is interposed between a plurality of ribs 85A-85T formed on the platen 42 along the transport direction of the record paper 35 and the pressing members 90A-90I from above and below to be curved into the undulated shape.
