摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an opportunity of a prompt restart by a single compression start by executing appropriate fuel injection control while atomizing fuel. <P>SOLUTION: From the establishment of an automatic engine stop condition to the execution of fuel cut for stopping fuel injection from a fuel injection valve (from t0 to t2), control is executed to increase the combustion pressure of the fuel injection valve. At a restart, it is determined whether or not a piston of a compression-stroke in-stop cylinder 2C is included within a specific range closer to the bottom dead center than a reference stop position and if included within the specific range, first fuel is injected from the fuel injection valve to the compression-stroke in-stop cylinder 2C, thereby restarting the engine. In the first fuel injection to the compression-stroke in-stop cylinder 2C, main injection is executed so as to generate main combustion to meet a peak of a heat generation rate after passing the compression top dead center, and pre-injection is executed so as to generate pre-combustion before the main combustion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
