<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher which permits dishes to be appropriately washed. <P>SOLUTION: The dishwasher 1 washes dishes 2 in a dish basket 3 while moving the dish basket 3 storing stacked dishes 2. The dishwasher 1 has an immersion tub 21 storing immersion water, and a washing chamber 22 located above the immersion tub 21. The dishwasher 1 has a transfer means 23 for transferring the dish basket 3 to ensure that the dish basket 3 sequentially passes through the immersion water in the immersion tub 21 and the washing chamber 22.
