PURPOSE: An image processing device and a control method are provided to transmit a transmission stream of a buffer to a demultiplexer at proper time, thereby guaranteeing image quality. CONSTITUTION: A buffer(121) stores a transmission stream which is received to a receiving unit(110). A demultiplexer(123) converts the stored transmission stream into an image stream. When a system reference clock of an image processing device corresponds to a stream reference clock calculated from the transmission stream, a control unit(129) transmits packets of a predetermined section from the buffer to the demultiplexer and synchronizes the system reference clock and the stream reference clock at time when the packets are reached to the multiplexer.
