<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulated cable which is capable of securing excellent flame retardancy while securing excellent mechanical characteristics, and a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: An insulated cable 100 includes an insulated wire 11 comprising a conductor 13 and an insulating layer 14 covering the conductor 13. The insulating layer 14 includes a resin part 17 and fibrous members 18 embedded in the resin part 17.
