摘要 PURPOSE: A shock absorber is provided to reduce a damping force below the extreme low velocity by installing a variable valve on the lower side of a piston rod. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber includes a piston rod(54), a piston valve(60), an inner path(56), and a variable valve(70). The piston valve partitions the inside of a cylinder into a tensile chamber and a compressing chamber. A piston valve generates the damping force by controlling the fluid movement inside a cylinder. The inner path is formed inside the piston rod and connects the tensile chamber and the compressing chamber. A variable valve is combined with the lower side of the piston rod, is connected to the inner path and changes the damping force. A variable valve includes a valve housing(72), a first separation plate(74), a second separation plate(76), and a floating piston(78). The valve housing is combined with the lower side of a piston rod and has a hollow part. A first separation plate is installed on the upper side of the hollow part and has a plurality of orifices passing through the inner path and the hollow part. A second separation plate is installed on the lower side of the hollow part and has a plurality of orifices passing through the hollow part and a tension chamber. A floating piston moves between the first and second separation plates up and down. The floating piston has a penetration hole(78a) penetrating through the hollow part up and down.
