FIELD: process engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to abrasive processing and may be used in diamond machining. Diamond surface is processed by mechanical part displaced along diamond. Loose fine crystalline diamonds are arranged between surfaces of said part and diamond to roll over machined surface. Mechanical part is brought in contact with diamond surface via fine crystalline diamonds on contact distance whereat the latter roll in direction of mechanical part motion. Said loose crystalline diamonds penetrate into processed surface to produce microscopic cracks thereon and to gradually abrade it.EFFECT: higher efficiency irrespective of crystalline structure orientation.24 cl, 8 dwg
