<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved information processing apparatus which is capable of controlling white balance more accurately. <P>SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus is provided which comprises a pickup image capturing section which captures a pickup image, a block dividing section which divides the pickup image into a plurality of blocks, a statistic value calculation section which calculates a block statistic value by taking statistics of pixel values for each block, a light source estimation section which estimates a light source illuminating a subject of the pickup image based on the block statistic value and generates light source estimation information on an estimation result, a reliability calculation section which calculates reliability of the light source estimation information based on eccentricity of the block statistic value, and a white balance control section which control white balance of the pickup image based on the light source estimation information and the reliability of the light source estimation information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
