<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for preventing an increase in a correction width of a developing bias for correcting an image density. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus which comprises: a conveying member for conveying a medium to be recorded in a predetermined direction; an exposure head which is disposed adjacent to a photoreceptor and forms a latent image on the photoreceptor by exposing based on image data; a developing part for developing the latent image formed on the photoreceptor; an image forming part for forming the image developed by the developing part on the medium to be recorded or on the conveying member; a density sensor having a first detection width which is a detection width DW1 in the conveyance direction and a second detection width DW2 which is a detection width in the photoreceptor axial direction; and a control part.
