<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an LIC that has a high capacity even with a small number of laminations by achieving a high capacity of individual LIC cells with use of a positive electrode having a large capacity corresponding to a negative electrode capacity; and a technique that can improve productivity by reducing the number of welding processes. <P>SOLUTION: A lithium ion capacitor includes: a positive electrode having a cathode active material mixture composed mainly of a carbon-based material carried on a positive electrode collector; and a negative electrode having an anode active material mixture composed mainly of a material capable of hydrating and dehydrating lithium ion carried on a negative electrode collector. Lithium salt is used as electrolyte. The positive electrode and the negative electrode are laminated a plurality of times with a separator interposed therebetween. These positive electrodes and negative electrodes are respectively electrically coupled to each other in cells. In the lithium ion capacitor, the positive electrodes have a thickness of 0.3 mm or more. In the lithium ion capacitor, the collector in the positive electrodes is a metal porous body of a three-dimensional structure containing 50 wt% or more of aluminum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
