<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that prevents damage to a belt in handling paper jam as much as possible, to extend the service life of the belt, and an image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a pair of power supply members 54 in contact with a pair of annular electrodes 515 of a fixing belt 51 to supply power from an external power source to a resistance heating element layer of the fixing belt 51; a pressure roller 52 arranged opposite the power supply member 54 across the fixing belt 51; a moving mechanism 80 that selectively moves the power supply member 54 between a first position P1 in pressure contact with the annular electrode 515 and a second position P2 away from the annular electrode 515; a motor for rotating the fixing belt 51; and a sheet sensor 55 for detecting paper jam in a fixing nip part. When paper jam occurs, the fixing belt 51 is stopped, and the power supply member 54 is retracted to the second position P2 away from the annular electrode 515. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
