<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steer-by-wire type steering device, for achieving size-reduction and a low gravity center of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The steering device includes: a steering central shaft 10 which is supported on the side of a vehicle body; a hub carrier 20 which is mounted to a wheel side; and a steering actuator 30 which is fixed to an upper bracket 21 and externally fitted to the steering central shaft 10 and which can be rotated integrally with the hub carrier 20. The steering central shaft 10 has a worm wheel 13. The steering actuator 30 comprises a driven shaft which is formed with a worm 31a for being meshed with the worm wheel 13, and a motor 32 which rotates the driven shaft. Since the steering central shaft 10 is prevented from rotating, the driven shaft is revolved around the steering central shaft 10 when the motor 32 is driven, and the hub carrier 20 is rotated in association with the revolution of the driven shaft to bring about steering. Since the motor 32 is arranged below the driven shaft, the center of gravity of the vehicle is set low. Since a distance between the driven shaft and the vehicle body is shortened, the miniaturization of the vehicle is achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
