PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain more accurate time for replacement of an absorber or a maintenance cartridge.

SOLUTION: This inkjet recording device includes: a recording head that discharges ink for recording; a preliminary discharge means to cause the recording head to perform preliminary discharge; a counting means to count the number of discharges of ink preliminarily discharged by the recording head; and a correction means to correct a count value counted by the counting means in accordance with the time elapsed from the previous ink discharge of the recording head.
