PURPOSE: A horizontal shaft wind power generator and a control method thereof are provided to stably produce electric power even at over 40 m/s of wind velocity. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal shaft wind power generator includes a tail blade(20), a detector(40), a controller(44), and an actuator(32). The tail blade is installed at a moving body, and is horizontally rotatable on the moving body as a main shaft. The detector is connected to an electric generator(38), and detects a voltage value or a current value from the generator. The controller determines the proper turning angle of the tail blade in response to the measured revolution number of a blade, and then generates a control signal. The actuator at the moving body adjusts the rotating angle of the tail blade according to the control signal.
