PURPOSE: A negative electrode active material is provided to offer an individual space for a silicon-based nanowire and to control volume expansion of a silicon-based nanowire, thereby improving efficiency and lifetime of a lithium battery. CONSTITUTION: A negative electrode active material(100) comprises a carbon-based substrate(110) having a plurality of concave parts(120) formed on the surface thereof; and a silicon-based nanowire(130) arranged in the concave part. The carbon-based substrate is a spherical or granular. The circularity of the carbon material is 0.2-1.0. The carbon based substrate includes a crystalline carbon-based material. A lithium battery includes a negative electrode including the negative electrode active material; a positive electrode opposite to the negative electrode; and an electrolyte arranged between the negative electrode and positive electrode. |
