PURPOSE: A parking control system is provided to determine a parking mode according to surrounding condition of a parking space and to control parking. CONSTITUTION: A parking control system(100) comprises an image information processing unit(130) and a parking mode determining unit(140). The image information processing unit confirms the alignment state of parked vehicles in a parking space. The parking mode determining unit determines a parking mode according to the alignment state. The parking mode includes a front perpendicular parking mode, a rear perpendicular parking mode, and a parallel parking mode. A method for controlling parking comprises: a step of confirming the alignment state of parked vehicles; and a step of determining the parking mode.
